February 22, 2010 ~ Sweet Jenny

Hello there! It has been nearly 9 months since I have blogged and almost two months since I made the resolution to blog more. Hahaha Since I have so many thoughts and emotions today I thought it would help to just sit down and write them all out. So here's what I am thinking...
On this day two years ago a very dear family friend of ours went to be with Jesus. Many of my friends, family and even strangers prayed by my side and most importantly by the side of the Ross/Bizallion family during this difficult journey. As I reflect over the past two years of my life there are so many emotions and thoughts that I have. As some of these things leave me venerable, I have freedom in knowing that none of these define who I am anymore.

Lord I am thankful for the mistrust, sorrow, confusion, depression, pain, fear and doubt that I experienced at some point over the past two years. They have all brought me to a life now filled with HOPE, PEACE and complete TRUST in you Lord. I am thankful for this JOY in knowing that death has not won...there is no victory for hell on this day BUT complete HONOR and GLORY brought to your name! I am so thankful for Jenny, Lord, and most important the life that she lived with you! Lord through her life...you changed mine. I make a promise to you Lord that I will only live for you. My promise to Jenny is that throughout life even when "I do not get my way" I will ALWAYS praise the Lord. My prayer for my life is that I will leave a mark on this world as Jenny did.
Who wants to join me?

Road Trip to A-town!

Well hello there! Now that I am officially done with all my school work and pretty much just sitting around waiting to GRADUATE I now have time to actually catch you up on things.

So here we go!
Last weekend my mom and my niece, Savannah,
made a little trip to good ole' A-town!

A little sign to welcome my girls! If you can't tell I was pretty excited...and I think they might have been a little bit too. Hahaha!

First stop of the trip the....

One of finest attraction of the Abilene!

The bridge over the giraffes was so fun. Crazy how close they got to us!

Don't they just look like they could step right out of their cage?!

Sav and Grans in front of the pond that was filled with TONS of catfish!

Next stop, Nikki's for some yummy frozen yogurt.
I think Savannah approved!

Last stop of the night... dinner with my friends at our favorite place, Bonzai!
Savannah loved how the guy cooked the food right there in front of us.

She also made some new friends too!
Once she warms up to you she's your best friend!

I love them so much!
Savannah's first road trip was a success!
I loved getting to spend time with them and show a little piece of my world in Abilene.

I can't believe my college experience is coming to an end this week. I have had so many fun memories, made friends that will last forever and learned a lot about myself along the way.
To sum it all up...I love ACU! It will be so hard to see it go, but I know the Lord has prepared me for a greater journey ahead. I'm ready Lord...YOU lead the way!

Hope everyone has a great week!
Next time you hear from me I'll be a College Alum! :)

Did you miss me?!

Well hello there! First let me apologize for being the worst blogger these past couple months. Here's a few things you missed while I've been M.I.A...

1.) My amazing friends came into town for ACU Sing Song! We
had a blast staying up late talking, going to the show and
of course eating at all the places they have missed! Haha
Oh how I miss each and every single one of them.
Love y'all!

2) Kojies WON and they were absolutely AMAZING.
p.s. Did I mention that they also won vocals.
F.Y.I this has not happen in 10 years! So very proud of them!

Shout out to my roomie, Lauren, for being co-director of the act.
All her hard work payed off! She is so talented!

3) I'm blonde again and feel much more like myself!

It's true blondes really do have more fun!

4) I fell more and more in love with my 3rd grade class
that I am student teaching with!
They are so much fun and very talkative! Hahaha
I'm having to pull out all my tricks to keep them from talking
and going off the deep in!
Last week and this week I am teaching everything all day.
Woo Hoo!

I have learned two things from this so far...
a.) Teachers do not get near enough credit for all that they do.If anyone thinks teaching is easy and something anyone can do you are so...WRONG! :)
b). I know more than ever that I want to touch the lives of children and make them feel so very loved. If that is through teaching, than I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for me.

5) Finally let me introduce you to the newest member of the Griffith household...
Koby...aka.Kobster, Kobman, Kobes, and Bub

This "man of the house" is what people like to call a ch-weenie.
A mix between a chiwawa and a weenie dog! Hahaha He really is so so cute!

Ok now that I have finally caught you up to speed on my simple life I want to tell you something that is currently going on.

Today at church David talked about Fasting until Easter. I have always liked the idea of Fasting but never really thought I could do it and just didn't really have the desire to. This morning I felt very strongly that this was something that the Lord wants me to do in this season. I have decide that I am going to give up T.V. For those of you that don't know..I kinda love T.V. It's not that I just sit around and watch pointless shows all night
but I get really caught up in series. Pathetic thing is that at least one of "my shows" comes on every night of the week. Also thanks to my lovely mother I have become addicted to
One Life to Live..I know I know terrible! Hahaha

This is something that I feel strongly I need to Fast from. A lot of the shows that I watch are shows that all of us girls watch together so this will be very tough. Also I have a really hard time falling asleep at night and have developed a really bad habit of relying of the T.V. to go to sleep. I feel like the Lord wants me to use this Fast to rely more on Him then anything else and to devote more of my time to Him. The Lord so strongly wants us to crave and desire his presence and I know this fast is going to make our relationship that much deeper.

What will you give up that will allow you to spend more time with our heavenly Daddy?

LOVE

Well hello there!
Have you ever just had a moment where someone says something and it's either exactly the way you feel or it's exactly what you needed to hear? Well a couple of days ago I had one of those nail on the head kinda moments. What was it you ask?!

One of my friends Andy started a blog last week and I thought I would hop on over to see how it was going. Little did I know that the Lord had me look at his blog just at the right moment. The post was entitled Lovers love themselves.
I actually had to reread the title a couple times to make sure there wasn't a typo or something. Lovers love themeselves?Honestly I was a little confused but definitely intrigued. In this post he talked about the importance of first loving yourself and feeling the love that the Lord has for you before you can truly love anyone else. One thing that he said that really struck my heart was "Why would God create me and then tell me to try and be somebody else?"

Wow what a great reminder! So many times I get so wrapped up in trying to act and look like others that I don't even acknowledged how wonderfully made I truly am. God has made each one of us so uniquely and different. He doesn't want us to be anyone else. He want us to just simply be ourselves!
I know tomorrow is a day that is all about showing others how much you love them (which I love), BUT also take the time to tell yourself how much you..well.. love you. Know that you are so perfect in every way, shape and form! There is no one like..not even one!
You are SO loved!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here is Andy's post if you would like to read more! He's great!

I'm dreaming of a white....February!

Well hello February! So nice of you to not only bring beautiful white snow but also a perfect reason for the whole city of Abilene to shut down! On Monday night I warned all my friends of the treacherous winter storm that was coming... they all laughed. I told them I was making my way to the grocery store to load up on all the essentials for a perfect snow day...they all laughed! I guess I wasn't the only one that thought of this grand idea because the lines where down the aisle and they even ran out of shopping carts! Hahaha! Well of course I was right about the crazy weather that came and of course I was right about everyone wanting my awesome goodies!

This is how I greeted my roomies and besties (who live next door) as they walked in our house. Haha If they didn't know IT'S A SNOW DAY! This entitles me attempting to be domestic and make muffins and hot chocolate for everybody. The muffins ended up being miniature burnt bites, but the hot chocolate and whip cream was a hit!

Next we were all off to play in the snow! We didn't last long in the 14 degree weather but at least we made a cute little snowgirl!

Meet Penelope!

Griffith Girls! (Minus a couple)

I told you...a Winter Wonderland!

This is our side yard.
Thanks Lauren for modeling how deep the snow really was! Hahaha!

Look at those crazy icicles!

The sign says it all... I LOVE SNOWY DAYS!

Hope yall are staying warm and cozy!
They just announced that school is cancelled again tomorrow! Yippee!!
Maybe I should use this time to get some things done...or not! :)
